Upsell to STRONGBOLT™ and strengthen your sales, says UNION

To help boost sales and profits, UNION, part of ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions, is advising merchants to encourage customers to trade up to the British Standard 5 lever StrongBOLT™ mortice lock.

Following the successful re-launch of its mortice lock range, reaffirming its place as one of the world’s most trusted lock manufacturers, UNION is helping merchants boost sales and profit margins with its improved StrongBOLT™ range.

Meeting the requirements under BS3621:2007, StrongBOLT™ can add value to residential installation by fulfilling most home insurance policies, something increasingly important to homeowners and project specifiers.

Independently tested to meet with the requirements under BS3621:2007, the mortice lock is anti-pick, anti-saw and anti-drill. Plus, the lock features a 20mm deadlock, hardened steel pins and distinctive chamfered bolt design increasing the lock’s performance and resistance to side load attack.

Karen Hubbard, UNION Product Manager for mortice locks, explains how trading customers up to the StrongBOLT™ is beneficial for end users and stockists: “Rises in domestic burglary mean it is increasingly important for locks to comply with insurance requirements. This means that mortice locks need to meet with British Standards, more specifically with BS3621. Locks that meet this standard are subject to the most the stringent tests and a general vulnerability assessment, which enables the product to be Kitemarked by BSI and ensures maximum protection and peace of mind for homeowners.

“To meet consumer demand, merchants should stock British Standard locks that can help homeowners achieve insurance policy requirements, plus these make greater profit margins compared to standard 3 or 5 lever mortice locks.

“In addition, the re-launch of the ‘We Are UNION’ campaign is supported by attractive literature and point of sale displays further help pull sales through our merchant customers.”

The award-winning StrongBOLT™ is ideal for first or retro-fit installation and features inner radius forends for ease-of-fit.

The StrongBOLT™ from UNION is available in sash lock and deadlock variants, as well as BS3621:2007, the lock is tested to BS EN 1634-1 and assessed for use on 30 and 60 minute timber fire doors.

Both variants are available in both satin stainless steel and satin brass finishes, plus it is now supplied in an attractive visi-pack to aid stocking and display.
