ASSA ABLOY to showcase new technology and extensive security solutions at IFSEC

ASSA ABLOY will be showcasing a range of industry-leading technology-based security and access control solutions at IFSEC 2011.

Here, we round up the products and technologies on display at Stand C50 in Hall 4 . . .

• Aperio - Aperio uses smart technology to enable the wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems with minimal door modification, allowing for the easy and cost effective expansion of mechanically locked doors by utilising the access system the client has already invested in.

This provides end-users in a variety of markets with a simple and intelligent way of upgrading the controllability and security level of their premises, by maximising the usage of their existing access system.  Plus, Wiegand connectivity has recently been added to the Aperio offering, which means Aperio can connect with almost all access control systems in the marketplace.

Existing card credentials can be used on additional online doors and will provide real-time audits and instant updates of access restrictions through the existing access control system.

To try Aperio for free, visit the ASSA ABLOY stand and ask for details of the ‘try me’ offer.
• CLIQ Remote – A new internet-based security management system, CLIQ Remote allows programming of cylinders and keys to provide remote access control across disparate sites requiring high levels of security.
The software, which automates key security, allows for additional data, such as valid times and authorisations to be written to keys remotely and automatically updates audit trails.

Plus, the secured data between database and remotely updated keys is protected from corruption, manipulation and information theft using highly secure encryption.

• Hi-O – Hi-O (Highly Intelligent Opening) technology for electronic door components is a highly secure, future-proof system that provides advanced diagnostic door information.

Hi-O helps to simplify door installation, service and maintenance, thanks to its proactive maintenance technology and plug and play installation.

Its proactive approach to maintenance is one of the key benefits of Hi-O technology, featuring planned servicing and predictive maintenance. By building intelligence into each device instead of a centralised logic unit, the operational status of the door opening can be readily communicated – allowing proactive servicing and maintenance.

This advanced feature enables the replacement of malfunctioning components before it breaks down, pre-empting costly reactive repairs and helping to create a more secure environment.

In addition, Hi-O’s plug and play installation eliminates the need to locally configure doors, making set-up easy and cost effective.

Based on a CAN data communication network, it enables connected devices to share and exchange encrypted information. Plus, when connected, the new device automatically discovers other network components and starts sharing information.

• Trimec Electromechanical Locking – Trimec electromechanical locking solutions are available for the first time in the UK from ASSA ABLOY. The new ES2100 fully monitored strike features variable voltage and patented field selectable fail safe, whilst the integrated door position switch provides door position monitoring.

The ES9000 electric strike is specifically designed for commercial applications where high levels of security and accessibility are required. Opening under a side load of 25kg, the stainless steel electric strike is non-handed and interchangeable between fail safe and fail secure, making it suitable for a variety of applications.

The ES6000 is a heavy-duty hook lock suitable for swinging doors, sliding doors and is easily attached to timber or steel doorframes. Power to open and power to lock versions are available depending upon the application, and its high preload capability makes it suitable for use in high air pressure environments.

The ES110 is a cost efficient electric strike, with a deeper than normal strike-keeper, designed to work with an extensive range of locks. Suitable for use with all access control systems, the ES110 features a stainless steel strike for added security.

The V-Lock motorised bolt is a high torque motorised bolt that moves from a vertical to a horizontal position when locked, moving into the V-shaped strike plate, pulling the door into alignment with the lock.

The TB25 and TB38 drop bolts provide high security and bolt position monitoring.

• Yale Keyfree - New for the residential market, Yale Keyfree is the UK’s first ever digital door lock for residential doors. Yale Keyfree allows users to access and secure their home using a personalised PIN code or remote control fob, with no need for a traditional key.

The PIN code can be set via a keypad to any 4 to 12 digit number of the user’s choice and can be reprogrammed at any time. For added convenience, users’ can also set up a separate visitor code to provide access for family, friends or tradesmen.

The remote control fob uses the very latest technology and can be used within a 15 metre range to activate the lock.

• Codehandle - The Codehandle is a sleek lever handle that features an integral five-button keypad, which provides a simple and cost-effective way to restrict access to private areas of light commercial and residential buildings.

With options for both manual and automatic locking, the device offers nine user codes and one master code, which can all be changed an unlimited number of times. Entering an incorrect code five times blocks the handle for three minutes, which is long enough to deter an opportunist intruder.

The handle gives both visual and acoustic feedback and the batteries provide approximately 100,000 operations, with a low battery warning at 500 remaining operations.

• CE Marked Door Closers - The new range of CE marked door closers from ASSA ABLOY share the same stylish and clean aesthetic cover design and can be installed in all common applications.

The range incorporates a rack and pinion variant, the DC200, and two cam action variants, the DC500 and DC700, which are practical and cost effective.  Alongside these surface mounted closers, ASSA ABLOY also offers the DC860 concealed cam action closer.

Cam action closers have the advantage of a reduced opening force at the beginning of the opening cycle, the most strenuous part of opening a door, which helps building owners to meet with Equality Act guidelines.  The practical result is that the door requires less effort by the user compared to a rack and pinion type design, while still maintaining the closing force.

Also on display will be a range of high security steel doors from the ASSA ABLOY Security Doors division, alongside CLIQ Protec technology, a hybrid electromechanical locking solution; and a selection of electric locks from Abloy, including the new EL466 and EL566 locks.
